Well, I stood in the street at 6 pm and yelled "Any Dive Animals Here" But I was the only one. I had a buddy from work and there were 4 other sets of divers. The tide was way out. there was no surf at all. Visibility was about 20'. The canyon was populated with tube worms open like big flowers. There were several cusp eels (actually a skinny fish) that would only tolerate so much inspection before squirming backwards into the sand. don't know what they are look in http://slugsite.tierranet.com/steve for pictures of critters found at La Jolla. One guitarfish was so lazy I could touch him. I showed my buddy how one could turn off the lights and stroke a sea pen to make it glow blue-green. Sorry folks. Didn't see a single squid egg case. We adjourned to Moon Doggies to eat lobster tacos without you.
