Our new members for 1998

The following is a list of the new members that signed up during 1998.  With the schedule that everyone seems to be experiencing, we have not been as active as group or as attentive to our new members as we should be.  Hopefully, with the summer  approaching and a better communications plan (regular 'Briefs and updates to the web site) we can correct this.

So, feel free to look up these folks contact info in the accompanying buddy list and try to get them out and diving, think back to how you felt when you first joined the club.  Now it's your turn to reach out and get involved. Also, if your

name is on this list, call or email someone else on the list and see if you can get a group together for a dive trip.  After all, a club like this only works if everyone pitches in a little (except for Frances, she pitches in a LOT, and we would be lost without her!).

1st Annual DASC Lobster Races!     July 31st

Lobster season is a mere few months away, and we've cooked up (pun intended) an event to focus on the task at hand…"bug" hunting.

For all of you that have been frustrated by that "lobbie" that got away, (the "bug" that teased you from under the rock, mooned you from inside the crevice, taunted you from the safety of the sanctuary, and, of course, the one that had you eating dust as it sped

away over your head)….we have an event for YOU!  Not to discriminate, this event is also for those delicate divers that have experienced trauma simply by being handed a live lobster underwater.  They are "cock-roaches" after all, and your screams will not be in vain.  These "lobbies" have had their fun at your expense in the past.  Now, it's "payback" time….DASC-style.

DASC members and friends are invited to bring their "live" lobster pals for a little fun in the sun and "jacuzzi" (i.e. big pot of boil

ing water) party.  In the spirit of the Del Mar horse races, we will line our lobbies up and find out just who is the fastest.  Then, we'll eat 'em.  It's that simple…No more frustration, no more lobbies, full belly.  Need I say more?

  • Watch your email for updates and details.  If you have any questions or ideas, please contact the event sponsors Lisa Miller @ 760-519-6008/ lmiller@vical.com and Geoff Nelson @ 619-997-0004.
