Did
we mention we love to travel and get together?
We kick off the summer each year with our annual club picnic
in mid May held at La Jolla Shores. This is an event not to be
missed! Old friends getting together, new friends meeting, great
food, free boat rides and did we mention great raffle prizes donated
by local dive manufactures, dive charters and dive shops? Mark this
on your calendar as a "can't be missed"!

Bill Walkup has
been instrumental in organizing monthly shore dive get togethers
through the warm months of the year. This is a great way to meet
fellow club members you have not seen in a while and find new dive
buddies.
Frances San Clemente has done a fabulous job organizing many trips
over the last 10 years including the ever popular twice yearly
three dayHorizoncharters to the local Channel Islands.
One of these trips usually runs over Memorial Day weekend and the other sometime in
November. Watch for emails announcing dates for these trips and book
early.
Frances also puts together at least one
international warm water destination trip each year. Destinations
have included
Fiji, Belize,
and Bonaire. Check the

Bill Powers guided a group of intrepid divers on a fabulous trip to
Cozumel in April of
2009 year and has designs on many more trips. Watch for further
announcements of up coming trips. La Bufadora just a three hour ride
south of the border has been

another popular destination for club
members. John Leek or another club member annually organize at
least one and sometimes two trips this spot just south of the

Catalina,
yes we love to go there and between one day trips and the weekend trips to the cabins at Two Harbors, we annually get there multiple
times.
